Clipjar Privacy Policy

Clipjar ("the app") is a clipboard manager that saves text you copy or share to it, with pins, favorites, groups, simple text tools, file backup and a home screen widget, provided by DDJ A1 ("we", "us"). The app has no account system, no login, no cloud sync, and no server operated by us.

Your data stays on your device

The text you save (clips), their pins, favorites and groups, and your settings are stored only on your device. The app reads the system clipboard only while it is open in the foreground, or when you explicitly send text to it (the text selection menu, the share sheet, the quick settings tile, or the widget's save button). We never upload, collect, sell, or share any of your clips. Uninstalling the app or clearing its data deletes everything.

Clips can contain sensitive text. They are stored in the app's private storage and are not accessible to other apps. Backups you export are plain JSON files saved to a location you choose; keep them somewhere safe.

Permissions

• Internet / network state — used only to show ads.
• Notifications — for optional morning and evening reminders. You can decline; the app still works.
• Run at startup — to restore scheduled reminders after the device restarts.

The app does not request access to your contacts, location, photos, microphone, or files. Backup export and import use the system file picker, which only gives the app access to the single file you choose.

Information collected automatically

Certain information may be collected automatically by the third-party advertising SDK used in the app. This may include:

• Your device's Internet Protocol (IP) address
• Your device's advertising identifier (Advertising ID)
• App usage events such as session time and screens viewed
• The mobile operating system and device model you use

This information is processed by the advertising provider described below and is never linked to your clips or settings.

Advertising

The app displays advertisements provided by Google AdMob, and the Advertising ID and the information above are collected and shared with Google (a third party) for that purpose. For users in the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom, and other regions where required, the app presents a consent form via Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) before personalized advertising data is used; if you decline, non-personalized ads are shown instead. You can reset or limit ad personalization in your device settings (Settings → Google → Ads), and you can change your consent choice from the app's Settings screen.

Notifications

Reminders are shown locally on your device using the Android notification system. No push notification service is used. You can turn them off in the app's Settings.

Children

The app is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Your rights

Because your data exists only on your device, you are in direct control of it. Depending on your region (e.g. GDPR in the EEA/UK, CCPA in California), you may also have rights regarding data processed by advertising SDKs; you can exercise ad-related choices through the consent form and your device's ad settings described above.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
