Lockmint Privacy Policy

Lockmint ("the app") is an offline password generator provided by DDJ A1 ("we", "us"). Lockmint is deliberately designed as a local-only app: it has no account system, no login, no server, and no cloud storage operated by us. Nothing you generate is ever transmitted to us.

What Lockmint is

Lockmint creates new, strong passwords — random character passwords, word-based passphrases, and numeric PINs — using your device's cryptographically secure random number generator. It cannot find, reveal, or recover a password you already use anywhere. It only makes new ones. Presets, the optional local history, the clipboard auto-clear and the home screen widget are all part of the free app; there is no subscription, no paid tier and no in-app purchase.

Data stored on your device

Everything the app keeps — your generation settings, any presets you save, and the optional history of generated passwords along with labels you add — is stored only on your device in the app's private storage. We never receive it, and we cannot see it.

History is off by default. The app generates and copies passwords without saving anything unless you deliberately turn history on. When you turn it off again, the entries already stored are deleted at the same time. You can also delete any single entry, or clear the whole history, at any time.

The app has no sign-up, account or login. Uninstalling the app deletes all of it. Android's standard app backup may include this data in your own Google account backup if you have device backup enabled; that backup is controlled by you and Google, not by us.

The clipboard

When you copy a password, Lockmint places it on your device's clipboard so you can paste it where you need it. The copy is marked as sensitive so that Android does not show it in the clipboard preview. By default the app clears the clipboard one minute later, provided the value it copied is still there; you can change that delay — or switch it off — in Settings. The clipboard is a system feature: while a value sits on it, other apps on your device may be able to read it, which is why the automatic clear exists.

Sharing

Lockmint has no feature that shares a generated password. The only share action in the app sends a link to the app itself, at your explicit request, to whichever app you pick in Android's share sheet.

Permissions

Lockmint asks for one runtime permission:

• Notifications — used only for the optional reminder to refresh an old password. If you decline, every feature of the app still works normally.

The app also declares the following install-time permissions:

• Run at startup — so your optional reminders are re-registered after you restart your phone. Without it, a reboot would silently cancel them.
• Vibration — for the optional vibration on reminders.
• Internet / network state / advertising ID — used only by the advertising SDK described below. Generating passwords itself works with no network at all, including in airplane mode.

Lockmint does not request camera, phone, contacts, location, microphone, SMS, calendar, notification-listener, body-sensor, activity-recognition, storage, accessibility, autofill, or display-over-other-apps permissions.

Information collected automatically

When you use the app, certain information may be collected automatically by third-party SDKs used for advertising. This may include:

• Your device's Internet Protocol (IP) address
• Your device's advertising identifier (Advertising ID)
• App usage events such as session time and screens viewed
• The mobile operating system and device model you use

This information is processed by the advertising provider described below. No password you generate is ever included in it. Generated passwords, presets, history entries and labels are never sent to the advertising SDK, to us, or to anyone else — the app contains no code path that transmits them.

Advertising

The app displays advertisements provided by Google AdMob. To serve ads, AdMob and its partners may access your device's Advertising ID and the information described above; this data is shared with Google as a third party for advertising and marketing purposes. For users in the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom, and other regions where required, the app presents a consent form via Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) before personalized advertising data is used; if you decline, non-personalized ads are shown instead. You can reset or limit ad personalization at any time in your device settings (Settings → Google → Ads), and you can change your consent choice from the app's Settings screen ("Ad privacy settings").

Ads stay out of the way: no ad ever interrupts the path from generating a password to copying it, the preset editor carries no banner at all, the exit dialog carries no ad, and the home screen widget generates and copies with no ad at any point.

Notifications and reminders

Reminders are created and scheduled locally on your device. No push notification service is used, and we send you nothing from a server. Reminders can be turned off at any time in the app's Settings, and quiet hours are on by default.

Children

The app is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. The app displays ads configured through Google AdMob in accordance with Google's policies.

Your rights

Because your data exists only on your device, you are in direct control of it: you can delete any single history entry, clear the history entirely, turn history off, and uninstalling the app removes everything. Depending on your region (e.g. GDPR in the EEA/UK, CCPA in California), you may also have rights regarding data processed by advertising SDKs; you can exercise ad-related choices through the consent form and your device's ad settings described above.

Because we hold no data about you, we cannot delete data on your behalf — there is nothing on our side to delete.

Security

Generated passwords never leave your device, which removes the most common exposure paths (server breaches, account leaks). Lockmint is a generator, not a password manager: it is not designed to be the only place a password is stored. Keep your passwords in a password manager or another place you trust, leave the clipboard auto-clear on, and protect your device with a screen lock.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
