How to play Cricket darts (and Cut-throat) with scoring

Short answer: Cricket is played on 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20 and the bull. You close a number by hitting it three times (a single is one mark, a double two, a treble three). After you close a number, every extra hit on it scores its value for you as long as an opponent has not closed it. You win when you have closed all seven and your score is equal to or higher than everyone else's.

1. The numbers in play

Only 15 to 20 and the bull count. Every other number is a miss.

2. Marks

A single is one mark, a double two marks and a treble three. On the bull, the outer ring is one mark and the inner bull two. Marks are written as /, X and a circled X for closed.

3. Closing and scoring

Three marks close a number. Once you have closed it, more hits on that number score points (a treble 20 is 60) while any opponent still has it open. When everyone has closed it, it is dead.

4. Winning

Close all seven numbers with a score equal to or higher than each opponent. If you close everything but are behind on points, keep scoring on numbers that are still open for them.

5. Cut-throat Cricket

Cut-throat flips the points: extra hits on a number you have closed add points to every opponent who has not closed it. The lowest score wins, so you want to close numbers fast and load points onto the others. It works well with three or more players.

6. Simple strategy

Close 20 and 19 early because they score the most. If an opponent is ahead on points, close the numbers they are scoring on first.

Cricket in Ochepad

Ochepad shows a marks board with every player side by side. Tap the number row to add a mark, choose Double or Treble first for multiple marks, and closed numbers turn green. Points are added automatically, Cut-throat sends them to the right players, and the leg ends when someone has closed everything with the right score.

FAQ

How many marks does the bull need in Cricket?

Three, like every other number. The outer bull is one mark and the inner bull is two marks.

Can I score on a number my opponent has closed?

No. Once both players have closed a number, it is dead and hits on it do nothing.

Who wins Cut-throat Cricket?

The player who closes every number and has the lowest score (or ties for lowest).
