Pagenook Privacy Policy
Effective date: 2026-10-01
Pagenook ("the app") is a PDF reader and document organizer provided by DDJ A1 ("we", "us"). You open PDFs you receive, pin the ones you need again, sort them into drawers and read them on your phone. Pagenook has no account system, no login and no server operated by us.
Documents and data stored on your device
When you open a PDF with Pagenook — from email, a chat app, the system file picker or the "Photos to PDF" tool — the app keeps a copy of that PDF in its own private storage on your device so it can open it again later. The list of your documents, their drawers, pins, the page you stopped on, and app settings are also stored locally on your device. The app itself does not send your documents or this list to us, and we have no server to receive them.
Removing a document from the list deletes Pagenook's copy. The original file in your email, chat app or folders is never modified or deleted by Pagenook. Uninstalling the app deletes all of its copies and settings. Android's standard app backup may include app data in your own Google account backup if you have device backup enabled; that backup is controlled by you and Google, not by us.
Files you choose to share, save, print or convert
Pagenook only reads files you explicitly open with it, and photos you explicitly pick in the system photo picker for "Photos to PDF". When you share a PDF, the app hands it to the app you choose through Android's share sheet. When you save a copy, it writes the file to a location you pick with the system file picker. When you print, the file is passed to Android's print service. The app does not upload these files anywhere by itself.
Permissions
- Notifications — optional reminders about your pinned documents. You can turn them off in Settings.
- Run at startup — to restore scheduled reminders after the phone restarts.
- Internet / network state — used by the advertising SDK described below.
Pagenook does not request "All files access", storage, camera, microphone, location, contacts or phone access.
Advertising and information collected automatically
The app displays advertisements provided by Google AdMob. To serve and measure ads and to prevent fraud, the AdMob SDK may collect and share with Google information such as your device's advertising identifier and other device identifiers, approximate location derived from your IP address, app interactions (for example ad views and taps), crash logs and diagnostics. This data is shared with Google as a third party for advertising, analytics and fraud prevention purposes. For more information see https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
For users in the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom and other regions where required, the app presents a consent form via Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) before personalized advertising data is used; if you decline, non-personalized ads are shown. You can change your choice from the app's Settings screen ("Ad privacy settings") and reset or limit ad personalization in your device settings.
The contents of your documents are never read for advertising and are never used to target ads.
Children
The app is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Your rights
Your documents and their list exist only on your device, so you can rename, move, share, save or remove them in the app at any time, and uninstalling the app removes them. Depending on your region (e.g. GDPR, CCPA), you may have rights regarding data processed by the advertising SDK; you can exercise ad-related choices through the consent form and your device's ad settings.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
