Rate Nudge Privacy Policy

Rate Nudge ("the app") shows daily reference exchange rates, a currency calculator, target-rate alerts and home screen widgets, provided by DDJ A1 ("we", "us"). The app has no account system, no login, and no server operated by us.

Your data stays on your device

Your watched currencies, base currency, target-rate alerts, fee settings and preferences are stored only on your device. We never upload, collect, sell, or share any of this. Uninstalling the app or clearing its data deletes it.

Exchange rate data

To show rates, the app downloads public exchange rate data from third-party public services (ExchangeRate-API at open.er-api.com, and Frankfurter at api.frankfurter.dev for historical charts). These requests only ask for rates for a currency code; they contain no personal information and nothing you enter in the app. Like any web request, these services can see your device's IP address as part of the network connection. Target-rate alerts are evaluated on your device; your targets are never sent anywhere.

Permissions

• Internet / network state — to download exchange rates and show ads.
• Notifications — for target-rate alerts and optional daily summaries. You can decline; the app still works.
• Run at startup — to restore scheduled rate checks after the device restarts.

The app does not request access to your contacts, location, photos, microphone or calendar.

Information collected automatically

Certain information may be collected automatically by the third-party advertising SDK used in the app. This may include:

• Your device's Internet Protocol (IP) address
• Your device's advertising identifier (Advertising ID)
• App usage events such as session time and screens viewed
• The mobile operating system and device model you use

This information is processed by the advertising provider described below and is never linked to your alerts or settings.

Advertising

The app displays advertisements provided by Google AdMob, and the Advertising ID and the information above are collected and shared with Google (a third party) for that purpose. For users in the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom, and other regions where required, the app presents a consent form via Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) before personalized advertising data is used; if you decline, non-personalized ads are shown instead. You can reset or limit ad personalization in your device settings (Settings → Google → Ads), and you can change your consent choice from the app's Settings screen.

Notifications

Alerts and summaries are shown locally on your device using the Android notification system. No push notification service is used. You can turn them off in the app's Settings.

Not financial advice

Rates shown are daily reference rates for information only and may differ from the rates your bank or exchange service applies.

Children

The app is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Your rights

Because your data exists only on your device, you are in direct control of it. Depending on your region (e.g. GDPR in the EEA/UK, CCPA in California), you may also have rights regarding data processed by advertising SDKs; you can exercise ad-related choices through the consent form and your device's ad settings described above.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
