Slipkeep Privacy Policy
Effective date: 2026-09-14
Slipkeep ("the app") is a receipt scanner and expense organizer provided by DDJ A1 ("we", "us"). Slipkeep is a local-only app: it has no account system, no login, no server, and no cloud storage operated by us. Your receipts are never transmitted to us.
Data stored on your device
The following is stored only on your device, in the app's private storage:
- Receipt photos you take with the camera or pick from your gallery
- Receipt details: merchant name, date, amount, currency, category and notes
- App settings (default currency, categories, theme, reminder times)
Text recognition (OCR) runs entirely on your device using Google ML Kit's on-device model. Receipt images and their text are not uploaded anywhere. We never receive this data and cannot see it. Uninstalling the app deletes all of it. Android's standard app backup may include it in your own Google account backup if you have device backup enabled; that backup is controlled by you and Google, not by us.
Receipt data is not used for advertising and is never shared with the advertising SDK, with us, or with anyone else.
Permissions
- Camera — the app opens your phone's camera app to take a receipt photo; Slipkeep itself does not request the camera permission. Photos you pick use Android's photo picker, so the app only sees the images you choose.
- Notifications — optional, for expense reminders. Everything else works if you decline.
- Run at startup — so reminders resume after you restart your phone.
- Internet / network state / advertising ID — used only by the advertising SDK described below. Scanning and storing receipts works fully offline.
Slipkeep does not request location, contacts, microphone, phone, SMS or calendar permissions.
Export, backup and sharing
When you export a CSV or PDF report, create a backup file, or share a summary card, the file is created on your device and handed to the app or location you choose. Nothing is sent unless you choose to.
Information collected automatically
Third-party advertising SDKs may automatically collect:
- Your device's IP address
- Your device's advertising identifier (Advertising ID)
- App usage events such as session time and screens viewed
- Operating system and device model
Advertising
The app displays advertisements provided by Google AdMob. To serve ads, AdMob and its partners may access your device's Advertising ID and the information above; this data is shared with Google as a third party for advertising purposes. For users in the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom, and other regions where required, the app presents a consent form via Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) before personalized advertising data is used; if you decline, non-personalized ads are shown. You can reset or limit ad personalization in your device settings (Settings → Google → Ads) and change your consent choice from the app's Settings screen ("Ad privacy settings").
Financial information notice
Slipkeep is a record-keeping tool. It does not connect to bank accounts or payment services and does not provide tax, accounting or financial advice. Please check recognized amounts before relying on them.
Children
The app is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Your rights
Your data exists only on your device, so you are in direct control: you can delete receipts in the app or uninstall it to remove everything. Depending on your region (e.g. GDPR, CCPA) you may have rights regarding data processed by advertising SDKs, which you can exercise through the consent form and your device's ad settings. Because we hold no data about you, there is nothing on our side to delete.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
