A step counter that never stops counting.
No START button to forget. Allow physical activity once and Tallystep counts every step in the background, restarts by itself after a reboot, and shows today's steps in big, easy-to-read numbers.

No start button
Tallystep reads your phone's step sensor all day. There is no START/STOP toggle, so it never sits stopped while you walk.
Keeps counting after a reboot
An ongoing notification shows today's steps, and counting starts again on its own when the phone restarts.
Count one walk from zero
Tap "Count this walk from 0" to see steps, time and distance for just this walk while today's total keeps going.
Fix wrong steps by hand
Phone in the car or left on a desk? Set any day's steps yourself. The sensor count is kept, so you can go back in one tap.
Gaps are never hidden
By-hour bars show when you walked. Striped hours mark when counting was off, so missing data is visible, not silent.
Distance from your own stride
Enter your height and Tallystep uses your stride length for distance and calories instead of a fixed 70 cm.
Big numbers, light and dark
Today's steps are shown huge, readable without glasses. Calories, distance and active minutes sit underneath.
Offline, no account
No sign-up. Your step data stays on this phone. A home screen widget shows today's steps and goal percent.
FAQ
- Why did my step counter stop counting?
- Many pedometer apps only count after you press START, or stop when the phone kills the app. Tallystep has no start button and keeps an ongoing notification so it keeps counting, even after a reboot.
- Do I have to remember to open the app every day?
- No. Allow physical activity once and Tallystep counts every day on its own.
- Can I delete steps or reset to zero?
- Yes. Use "Count this walk from 0" to count one walk from zero, or edit any day's total by hand. Today's sensor count is kept so you can restore it.
- It counted steps while I was driving. Can I fix that?
- Yes. Set that day's steps by hand. Edited days are marked in your history.
- Why is the distance wrong?
- Some apps assume a 70 cm stride for everyone. Tallystep uses your height to estimate your own stride length.
- Does it work without internet?
- Yes. Counting, walks, history and the widget all work offline.
- Does it drain the battery?
- Tallystep reads the phone's built-in step sensor instead of GPS, which uses very little power.
- Do I need an account?
- No. There is no sign-up and your steps stay on your phone.
