Tallyvault Privacy Policy

Effective date: 2026-09-16

Tallyvault ("the app") is a calculator with a private photo vault, provided by DDJ A1 ("we", "us"). Tallyvault is a local-only app: it has no account system, no login, no server, and no cloud storage operated by us.

Your photos and videos stay on your device

When you hide a photo or a video, the app moves the file into its own private folder on this device (Android/data-equivalent app storage that other apps cannot read). The file is never uploaded anywhere. "Move back to gallery" writes the file back to your gallery and removes the copy from the vault.

Your PIN, your recovery code, calculator history and the list of items in the vault are stored only on your device. We never upload, collect, sell, or share them, and we cannot recover them for you: there is no account behind the app. Uninstalling the app or clearing its data deletes this data, so move anything you want to keep back to your gallery first.

The app uses the Android photo picker to let you choose what to hide. It does not request broad photo-library or all-files permissions, and it can only read the specific items you pick.

If you use Share, only the text you chose to share is delivered to the destination you explicitly pick. Vault contents are never shared.

Information collected automatically

Certain information may be collected automatically by the third-party advertising SDK used in the app. This may include:

This information is processed by the advertising provider described below and is never linked to your photos, your PIN, or your calculations.

Advertising

The app displays advertisements provided by Google AdMob, and the Advertising ID and the information above are collected and shared with Google (a third party) for that purpose. For users in the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom, and other regions where required, the app presents a consent form via Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) before personalized advertising data is used; if you decline, non-personalized ads are shown instead. You can reset or limit ad personalization in your device settings (Settings → Google → Ads), and you can change your consent choice from the app's Settings screen.

For more information on how Google uses data when you use partners' apps, see https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

Notifications

Reminders are shown locally on your device using the Android notification system. No push notification service is used, and notification text never mentions the vault or its contents. You can turn reminders off in the app's Settings.

Security, stated plainly

The vault relies on Android's app sandbox: other apps on the device cannot read Tallyvault's private folder. The files themselves are not additionally encrypted, and the app does not protect against someone who knows your PIN or who has physical access to an unlocked, rooted device. We do not claim "military-grade" or unbreakable protection.

Children

The app is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Your rights

Because your photos, PIN and recovery code exist only on your device, you are in direct control of them. Depending on your region (e.g. GDPR in the EEA/UK, CCPA in California), you may also have rights regarding data processed by advertising SDKs; you can exercise ad-related choices through the consent form and your device's ad settings described above.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
