Trimsub Privacy Policy

Effective date: 2026-10-12

Trimsub ("the app") is a subscription tracker that keeps a list of the subscriptions you pay for, reminds you before each charge, and helps you spot and cancel the ones you no longer use. It is provided by DDJ A1 ("we", "us"). Trimsub is designed as a local-only app: it has no account system, no login, no server, and no cloud storage operated by us. It does not connect to your bank, card, or email.

Data stored on your device

Everything the app keeps — the subscriptions you add (name, amount, currency, billing cycle and day, free-trial end date, category, notes), the apps you link to them, which ones you marked as cancelled and the savings calculated from that, and your settings — is stored only on your device and is not transmitted to us. Deleting a subscription in the app, or uninstalling the app, deletes this data from your device. Android's standard app backup may include this data in your own Google account backup if you have device backup enabled; that backup is controlled by you and Google, not by us.

Apps installed on your phone

To let you add subscriptions quickly, the app checks whether a fixed list of well-known subscription apps (for example streaming or music apps) is installed on your phone and shows their names and icons. This check happens on your device; the result is not sent to us.

Usage access (optional)

If you choose to turn on Android's "Usage access" for Trimsub, the app reads, on your device, when you last opened the apps you linked to a subscription and how long you used them, in order to show "not opened in 30+ days" and a cost-per-hour estimate. The app itself does not send this usage information off your device. Every other feature works without it, and you can turn it off at any time in your phone's settings.

Export and import

If you use "Export", the app writes your subscriptions to a file at the location you choose; "Import" reads a file you pick. These files are handled only by you and the storage location you select.

Permissions the app asks for and why

The app does not request access to your location, contacts, camera, microphone, photos, or SMS.

Information collected automatically

When you use the app, certain information may be collected automatically by third-party SDKs used for advertising. This may include:

This information is collected by the advertising SDK and shared with Google (AdMob) and its advertising partners for advertising, analytics, and fraud prevention, security and compliance purposes. It is encrypted in transit. It is not linked by us to your subscriptions, which stay on your device.

Advertising

The app displays advertisements provided by Google AdMob: a banner at the bottom of the screen, an ad when the app starts, and full-screen ads only at natural pauses (for example right after you save a subscription or mark one as cancelled) — never while you are typing. To serve ads, AdMob and its partners may access your device's Advertising ID and the information described above. For users in the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom, and other regions where required, the app presents a consent form via Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) before personalized advertising data is used; if you decline, non-personalized ads are shown instead. You can reset or limit ad personalization at any time in your device settings (Settings → Google → Ads), and you can change your consent choice from the app's Settings screen.

For more information on how Google uses data when you use partners' apps, see https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

Children

Trimsub is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Your rights

Because your subscription list exists only on your device, you are in direct control of it: you can delete entries in the app at any time, and uninstalling the app removes everything completely. Depending on your region (e.g. GDPR in the EEA/UK, CCPA in California), you may also have rights regarding data processed by advertising SDKs; you can exercise ad-related choices through the consent form and your device's ad settings described above.

Changes and contact
