Hidden Photos Gone After Uninstalling a Vault App? Why It Happens

Why it happens
To hide a photo, a local vault app copies it into the app's private storage and removes the original from the gallery. Android deletes an app's private storage when the app is uninstalled. So the hidden copies are deleted with the app.
Can they be recovered?
- If the app used a cloud backup and you remember the login, reinstall and sign in.
- If it was local only, the files are usually gone. Check Google Photos or your phone's trash in case a copy was backed up before hiding.
How to avoid it next time
- Pick an app that tells you clearly where hidden photos are stored.
- Always unhide everything before uninstalling or resetting the phone.
- Keep a separate backup of photos that truly matter.
