Leave it on. Every noise spike gets logged.
A noise log for upstairs and neighbor noise. Hushlog measures sound with your phone's microphone and automatically saves the moments that go over your daytime or nighttime limit, so you have dates, times and decibels instead of screenshots. No account, no server, records stay on your phone.

Automatic event log
When sound goes over your limit, Hushlog saves the start time, how long it lasted, max and average dB, and L10/L90. You do not have to watch the screen or take screenshots.
Day and night limits
Separate thresholds for daytime (06–22) and nighttime (22–06). Night noise is tagged so you can show how often it happens while people are sleeping.
Listen back to what happened
Optionally keep a short, low-quality clip of each exceeded moment, only on your device. Turn recording off and only numbers are saved.
Tags and memos
Mark each event as footsteps, furniture dragging, music or TV, voices or construction, and add a note in your own words.
Heatmap by weekday and hour
See when the noise starts: a weekday × hour heatmap, an hourly chart and the share of events at night for the last 7 days, 30 days or all time.
PDF and CSV reports
Create a dated PDF report or a CSV file and share it with your building manager, landlord or neighbor. Included at no cost.
Scheduled and charging-only measurement
Schedule nightly measurement and choose to measure only while charging, so battery is not a worry.
Calibration
Phone microphones differ. Set an offset against a reference meter or another reading so your numbers are consistent over time.
FAQ
- Can I use this as evidence of noise from upstairs?
- Hushlog gives you a dated, consistent record of when noise happened, how long and how loud. A phone is not a certified sound level meter, so treat it as supporting material when you talk to a manager or request an official measurement.
- Does it keep recording with the screen off?
- Yes. Measurement runs as a foreground service with a visible notification, so it keeps logging with the screen off until you stop it.
- Why does my phone show a different dB than another app?
- Every phone microphone has a different sensitivity and apps use different reference levels. Use the calibration offset to match a known reading, then keep using the same phone.
- Does it record conversations?
- No continuous recording. It only keeps short, low-quality clips of moments over your limit, and you can turn clips off completely.
- Will it drain my battery overnight?
- You can schedule measurement for the night and set it to measure only while the phone is charging.
- Is there a subscription?
- No. Reports, export and calibration are all included. Hushlog is supported by ads.
- Is my audio uploaded anywhere?
- No. Events and clips stay on your phone. There is no login and no server. Ads are provided by Google AdMob; see the privacy policy.
