Why diary apps are full of ads, and what to look for instead
Short answer: Many free diaries put a full-screen ad on the taps you make most: save, open an entry, go back. Pick a diary that keeps ads off the writing and reading screens and does not lock basic formatting behind a subscription.
Five things to check before you choose
- Save an entry. Does a full-screen ad appear? Try it twice.
- Open an old entry and go back. An ad here means you pay with time every time you reread.
- Try bold, a list and a second photo. If these need a subscription, the free version is a trial.
- Look for export. Can you get your entries out as normal files?
- Count the notifications. One reminder a day is enough.
How Inkleaf handles ads
Inkleaf shows a banner on the calendar list and an occasional ad after you return from saving, never while you write, read, draw or unlock. Bold, lists, photos, drawings and ZIP export are all included.
