FAQ

How many days do I have left to live?
Nobody knows the exact number. Lifetally gives an estimate: days from today to your birthday plus an average life expectancy (about 80 to 85 years, adjustable). For someone aged 35 with an 82-year expectancy, that is roughly 17,000 days.
How is life expectancy calculated in the app?
It starts from a rough average by sex that you can change to any age from 50 to 110. It is for reflection only, not a medical or insurance prediction, so the app never asks health questions.
What does "if your life were one day" mean?
Lifetally maps your lifespan onto 24 hours. If you have lived 42% of your expected life, it is about 10 AM. Most people find a clock easier to feel than a percentage.
Isn't counting days left depressing?
Memento mori, "remember you will die", is an old Stoic practice meant to make today feel valuable, not to scare you. Lifetally pairs the count with a gentle one-line diary so the focus stays on living today.
What is a one line a day journal?
A diary where you write a single sentence each day. It takes seconds, so it is easy to keep up, and after a year you can read "a year ago today" in one glance.
Will I lose my diary if I change phones?
Not if you save a backup. Settings > Save backup file writes one file anywhere you choose (for example Google Drive). On the new phone use Restore from backup file.
Do I need an account?
No. Everything stays on your phone. The app has no login and no server.
Is there a home screen widget?
Yes. It shows your days left and life clock, and a Write button that opens today's line directly.
