How to log night feeds when you're half asleep
Short answer: make logging one tap, do it at the start of the feed instead of the end, and fix the details in the morning. Precision at 3 a.m. is not the goal; not losing the entry is.
Log at the start, not the end
By the end of a night feed you are asleep again. Start the timer or tap the bottle button as soon as the baby latches or the bottle goes in. The time is saved even if you forget the rest.
Make it one tap
- Keep the phone within reach, brightness low, and the logging screen or widget ready.
- Use buttons that save the current time without questions: bottle with your usual amount, diaper type, sleep start and stop.
- Skip notes at night. Add them tomorrow if they matter.
Fix it in the morning
Wrong button, AM/PM mix-up, a feed you only remembered at breakfast: all normal. Pick a log that lets you tap an entry to edit and add past entries. In Nightfeed, tap any record on the Timeline to change it, swipe to delete, or tap + to add a feed to any day.
What to look at in the morning
The number of night feeds, the longest stretch of sleep, and wet and dirty diapers are what most pediatricians ask about. A daily summary with those totals, plus a 7-day chart, answers the question in seconds.
