How to set a daily medicine reminder you won't ignore

Short answer: Tie the reminder to something you already do (breakfast, brushing teeth), make sure it rings with sound, and snooze it instead of dismissing it when you can't take the pill right away.

This is general information, not medical advice. Follow your prescription and ask your doctor or pharmacist about timing.

Tie it to a routine

A reminder at "8:00" is easy to swipe away. A reminder at breakfast time, while the kettle boils, is easier to act on. Name it clearly, for example "Blood pressure pill — with breakfast".

Make it ring

A silent notification is the most common reason people miss a dose. Turn sound on and send yourself a test reminder once.

Snooze, don't dismiss

If you are out, snooze for 10 minutes or 1 hour. Dismissing means relying on memory again.

Keep it visible

A home screen widget showing today's reminders makes it obvious whether you already took it. Ticking it off there leaves a record.

In Pingday

Set "Every day" with the time you take it, snooze 10 minutes or 1 hour from the notification, and tick it off from the widget. Missed doses stay in "Missed" until you mark them.
