How to set a repeating reminder on Android
Short answer: Create the reminder with the first time you want it, then choose a repeat rule: every day, weekdays, every week, every month or every year. When you mark it done, the next one is scheduled automatically.
Pick the right rule
- Every day — vitamins, medicine, a daily check-in
- Weekdays — work tasks, school pick-up, commute reminders
- Every week — recycling day, a weekly call, gym
- Every month — rent, bills, subscriptions to review
- Every year — birthdays, anniversaries, renewals
Add an early reminder
For things you need to prepare for, add a heads-up 10 minutes, 1 hour or 1 day before, so the main alert is the moment to act, not the moment you remember.
Decide what happens when you miss one
People want opposite things here. For a bill, a missed reminder should stay until you pay it. For "read for an hour", yesterday's missed session shouldn't pile up. Choose per reminder: keep it until done, or skip to the next one.
In Pingday
All repeat options are free. Each repeating reminder has a "Keep until done" switch for exactly this choice, and completing it schedules the next one right away.
